Workshop on Innovative Learning Assessment for Teachers in Pajangan District

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), through the Master’s Program in Educational Research and Evaluation (PEP), held a workshop titled “Innovative Learning Assessment” for teachers in Pajangan District, Bantul. This activity is part of the university’s Community Service (PkM) agenda aimed at enhancing teachers’ understanding and skills in conducting effective learning assessments. The program was led by Prof. Muhammad Nursa’ban, S.Pd., M.Pd., with team members Dr. Ali Muhson, S.Pd., M.Pd.; Dr. Risky Setiawan, S.Pd., M.Pd.; Dr. Kana Hidayati, M.Pd., and student assistants M. Rizal Fathoni, Nur Khafifah Luthfiyah, Tri Aprilianto, Izzul Kiram Suardi, and Rina Safitri.

The workshop took place on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at SMAN 1 Pajangan. The event began with welcoming remarks from the Head of the PkM Team, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nursa’ban; the Head of Guwosari Village, Mr. Masduki Rahmad, S.M., I.P.; and the Principal of SMAN 1 Pajangan, Mrs. Bekti Mulatsih, S.Pd., M.Pd.

The program continued with the signing of a cooperation agreement between SMAN 1 Pajangan and the PEP Program of the Graduate School, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, strengthening collaborative efforts in advancing education in the region.

Before the main sessions began, participants took a pre-test to measure their initial understanding of assessment practices.

The workshop sessions featured essential materials delivered by experts in assessment and education. The first session, presented by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nursa’ban, S.Pd., M.Pd., focused on an Introduction to Assessment Design, providing teachers with practical guidelines for designing assessments aligned with modern educational standards.

After the break, the highly anticipated second session on ANBUSO (Item Analysis) Practice was delivered by Dr. Ali Muhson, S.Pd., M.Pd., accompanied by hands-on assistance from the PEP team.

Teachers were given the opportunity to directly practice assessment analysis using laptops prepared by the committee, following step-by-step guidance from the facilitators.

The workshop concluded with participant assignments shared through a provided link, serving as an evaluation and reflection on the activities conducted.

This event not only provided valuable knowledge for teachers but also strengthened collaboration among educational institutions, particularly in efforts to improve learning quality through innovative assessment practices.
